Basically Besties’ Podcast Joins Acast Creator Network

The wildly successful Australian mother-daughter team Kat and Latisha Clark, who host the podcast Basically Besties, have been signed to the Acast Creator Network, according to Acast.

“Basically Besties,” which was produced in collaboration with Amplify, a production and talent partner, was released in October 2022. Since then, it has had 80,000 Australian listens each week and has recently surpassed the 4 million download milestone.

Kat Clark stated: “Over the past year, I’ve had a lot of ‘pinch me’ moments, and I never thought that so many people would be interested in the content that Tish (Latisha) and I create.” Since the start, we have focused on creating content and sharing intimate stories, and we have received a ton of positive response from listeners who can identify with our experiences and stories. The podcast has expanded rapidly since we started, and we’re eager to collaborate with Acast on the next stage of our adventure.

With Kat Clark winning 2022 TikTok Creator of the Year and gaining over 4.5 million followers, the two have built a sizable fan base of TikTok listeners. Latisha has grown her own TikTok following to over 1.6 million, continuing her mother’s impact in the Australian influencer market. As a result of the podcast’s popularity, Kat and Latisha just finished their first live “Basically Besties” podcast tour in Australia. With Kat playing a major role as one of the parents on Nine’s popular reality TV format “Parental Guidance,” and Latisha appearing on the show as well, their popularity has increased even more.

“We at Acast firmly believe in enabling independent creators to thrive on their own terms, and we’re so happy to welcome Kat and Latisha to the Acast Creator Network,” stated Guy Scott-Wilson, Acast Content Director for Australia & New Zealand. We look forward to providing the resources to help “Basically Besties” reach even greater heights in the future. Kat and Latisha have amassed a really amazing following among a Gen Z population that is typically difficult to reach.

“Basically Besties” is already giving a young audience access to podcasting, and Amplify and Acast share a strong belief in the power of the creator economy,” stated Michelle Melky, creative director of Amplify. We have no doubt that the next Acast podcasters to flourish will be Kat and Latish Clark, who are both incredibly brilliant!

As part of the Acast Creator Network, Acast will host, distribute, and monetize “Basically Besties,” an Amplify Original podcast, guaranteeing that it will continue to be available and profitable on all podcast platforms.
